Love for Others - Day 19

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”
John 15:12-13 

As Jesus speaks to his disciples, it’s incredible that he doesn’t just tell them to love each other when they feel like it. Or when they gift you something, etc. He commands them to love each other as he has loved us. It shouldn’t be a feeling or choice when you are a follower of Christ. It should be done naturally because of the sacrifice God has done to show his love for us. 

We should be encouraged daily to reach out to those we “love” and see how we can lay down our life for them. I don’t literally mean that, but a simple “how are you doing” conversation or a hug may be precisely what they need to see God's love. It’s that simple! 

Prayer:
Lord, we thank you for the sacrifice of your greatest love. Today we pray that you can show us who needs a touch of your unfailing love. Please continue to give us guidance and strength as we walk in your commandment. In Jesus's name, Amen!
