Prayer for humility - Day 10

Philippians 2:3-8 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!

In this chapter Paul is telling us that Jesus is the example for humility.
Jesus, knowing our sins, and STILL choosing to give his life for us demonstrates true humility.
True humility is putting others before yourself. It is also putting aside any hurt no matter how much it hurts. Humility is the stance of true love expressed in action.

How can you practice humility today?
● BE SLOW TO SPEAK: James 1:19 New Living Translation -Understand this, my dear brothers and sisters: You must all be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to get angry.
● CHOOSE TO LOVE: John 13:34-35 “I give you a new commandment—to love one another. ...
● FORGIVE TO GIVE: “And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”

Prayer: Lord, teach me how to demonstrate true humility today. Lord, help to love as you love, mold me by your spirit, and let me choose humility first. I pray that today my relationships will be strengthened and people will be encouraged by all that you are doing through me. In your name I pray, amen.
