Prayer for your church - Day 7
“They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity— all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.”
Acts 2:46-47 NLT
Community is vital for our lives as Christ's followers. When God made Adam, he noticed it wasn’t good for him to be alone, so he created Eve. This is when community started.
Fellowship within the church is essential. Being around like minded believers, worshiping together, praying together, fasting together, and communing together are some things we should value in our lives.
Sometimes it’s hard to connect with others at church because we show up just in time for service and receive what we need. Once the service is over, we rush out to do whatever we need to do. In all of the rushing in and out, we forget that connecting is something that God asks of us.
As we connect, share our stories and struggles, rejoice and celebrate each other and encourage each other in love, we form a bond, and that creates unity in the church. As we unify, we work together to fulfill the church's vision. As we fulfill the church's vision, we encourage others to come and be a part of this amazing life with Jesus, and more people are added to the body of Christ.
Let our prayer today be that we grow a love for our church. A love for it’s vision, a love for our community, a love for the lost, a love for our pastors, a love for the serve teams and a desire to connect with the people in our church.
Prayer: Lord, show me how I can better love my church. Show me how I can be a vital part of your kingdom here on earth. Help me grow a desire to connect with those in my church and instruct me on how I should serve you in your house.
Create a doorkeeper mentally in me and keep my heart humble and teachable.
In your name I pray, Amen.

Hallelujah! Such a good word!!! Before moving to Texas in 2020, we saw the fruit of this scripture in our previous home church. Exploded from 800 members to well over 5,000 with the implementation of "small groups" or connect groups, as we call them here. Meeting in homes across our region, for fellowship & community. God multiplied our congregation and filled it to overflowing with new believers! So amazing to be a part of! Lord, help us to be noticers and includers and love people well! Do it here in the RGV!
Praise the Lord for our church family.
