When the peoples ways please the lord the heavens would give the rain which would cause their crops to grow and bring prosperity to the land. In this passage, it indicates a response of obedience. Living a life of fear, lacking peace, and living without contentment has increased. So much information is given to us through social media platforms. They tell us how to live or how our lives must be seen to be successful, which adds pressure to our lives. All of these things increase the worry and anxiety in our lives.

God wants us to remain in Him, and He will give us PEACE at all times. Paul teaches us to go to Him EVERY time and make our request known through prayer, but I love that he asks that we give thanks when we pray. Why? Because when we focus on the things for which we are grateful, God responds to this prayer of gratitude by filling us with his peace. That peace surpasses all understanding, thus showing us that once we are surrendered to Him, he will take care of all things, and everything will be for our benefit. Remember that our prayer is the expression of our dependence on His promises.

Prayer: Lord, help us to maintain a grateful heart so we can experience the peace you have promised to give to those who trust you. May we live in the promise of perfect peace, and may our thoughts be on things above. Holy Spirit, help me. In the name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

Day 20
Written by P. I was traveling one day, and before taking off, I heard something interesting. It was “if we lose cabin pressure, put your mask on first and then the guest beside you if they need help.” I understand that if you don’t help yourself, you can’t help others, but this question arose in me, do we live in a “me first” society?
Jesus’ idea of serving is if you want to be great, you have to get low. This is what God called Israel to be, but, for most of their history, Israel fell far short of this standard. They could hardly be characterized by holiness. However here in this chapter Peter is applying to the Believer, the church. He is in essence calling us higher. Who we are in relationship to God through His Son Jesus.

Holiness, when applied to people, essentially means the quality of being set apart by God to live morally upright and righteous lives based on the Word of God. This thought can be a bit intimidating, especially when most of us draw our identity from our parents, our culture, our experiences, and well, some of us, in light of present circumstances, we don’t quite feel Holy, or Royal nor special. We may even feel the total opposite, completely unworthy and a failure.

Have you ever heard someone say, “This is the way I’ve always been!” as if we had no choice. But we do. The day we said Yes to Jesus we chose better. We chose a New Life in Christ. We chose a better way, a new way, THE Way. Our whole direction changed. Our thinking changed. Our lifestyle changed. Our relationships changed. Our position changed. We became The Chosen. We became Royal, a royal priest. We became Holy, God’s special possession. What wonderful knowledge to know that God wants me for Himself. We find our Identity in Jesus, in God The Father, Citizens of Heaven, seated in heavenly places. I choose to believe that I am what He says I am.

To what purpose were we elevated to such a high and auspicious position? The answer, ”that you may declare the praises of Him that called you out of the darkness into His WONDERFUL light!!!” We are to go out and tell people about Him and what he has done for us. Testify of His greatness.

Today make a choice to believe for better. See yourself in the mirror of God’s Word. You can start by working on 3 things:
Read the Word: (out loud if you have to)”Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
Believe The Word: “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone that comes to Him must first believe that He exits and that He is a rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

Be a DOER of the Word: “Faith without works is dead.” James 2:17

Pray:
Lord, I am who YOU say I am. I am a child of the living God. Chosen to do greater things. I am a Royal Priest ministering to the Father, able to approach the Throne of Mercy and Grace, offering sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving before Him for His people. I am a Holy Nation. My children and my children’s children will know Your name and declare Your glory. I am God’s special possession held in high esteem, held by His strong arms, cherished and beloved of Lord God. Amen.

Day 14
Written by P MaryJo Martinez

Family members are walking by one another exchanging good mornings or not. Everyone has finished what needs to be done to face the day, but this day is different. Instead of everyone going their way to start the day, everyone gathers for a moment to acknowledge God, His Son Jesus – our Savior and the Holy Spirit- our Comforter in prayer.
If you can picture your family doing this tomorrow morning and just need a little guidance. Take a look at the example below as one way to start your day with family prayer.

Prayer: Lord God, we thank you for a brand-new day and for each day you have bestowed upon every one of us to appreciate and be a steward of your creations.

Oración: “Querido Señor, ayúdame a elegir amar a mis enemigos hoy. Cuando muestren odio hacia mí, me maldigan y o me used.
Dia 9
Escrita por P. How many of us hear the words “Love your enemies” and we immediately think of the person we consider to be our enemy and think to ourselves “There is no way in the world I am sending any type of love toward that person!”. If we take the approach Jesus gives us in this passage though, we might start to shift our perspective no matter what comes against us.

Jesus paints a very simple picture of 3 ways we can show love towards those we call our enemies. He says we can do good things towards them, we can bless them and pray for them. He recognizes that we will all have enemies at some point. It is inevitable. He knows at some point we are going to have people call us names, treat us badly, talk behind our back, curse us, use us, hate us and ty to sabotage our lives. Even though we will have enemies come against us, we must choose the response of love. When we choose love, we also choose trust. We trust that God will protect our cause no matter what our enemies do to us.

Jesus isn’t expecting us to have warm fuzzy feelings towards our enemies. If we wait for that, we may never actually show them love. The love we should show them is a love that does something for them despite how we feel about them or what they have done to us.

The other day I was venting out loud too myself and to God about someone I consider to be my enemy. I could tell I had built up a lot of hate and resentment towards this person when all of a sudden, I felt a tug on my heart and a whisper in my spirit from God saying “Pray for them”. My response was “What?! You want me to pray for them?! But I really don’t like them and they have really done so many terribly mean things to me, but if you want me to God I will.” So I began to pray for them and God began to change my heart and perspective towards them. He began to show me things that made me see that maybe they weren’t really my enemy after all, they were just human and I allowed their human responses towards me to affect me negatively. I no longer see this person as my enemy anymore even when they do things that could give them the credit for it.

Prayer is powerful. It can change your heart and your perspective. Even towards your enemies. I pray that you take the things that Jesus told us to do toward our enemies and apply them to your life today.

Prayer: “Dear Lord, help me to choose to love my enemies today. When they show hatred toward me, curse me, and use me. Help to choose to do good towards them, bless them and pray for them. Help my prayers to change my heart and my perspective. In Jesus name, Amen”

Day 9
Written by P. Ryan Moore
